Get Back to Dressing, Cooking, Working, and Living With Confidence

One-on-one occupational therapy focused on the daily tasks that make you feel like you again.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Physical therapy often focuses on how you move. Occupational therapy focuses on what you can do with that movement, at home, at work, and in your day-to-day life.

If an injury, surgery, stroke, or neurological condition has made everyday tasks harder, OT helps you rebuild the skills and strategies to function independently again.

At FAM Rehabilitation, we don't just exercise your muscles; we train your independence.

Our Focus

The ADL Framework "Activities of Daily Living" are the fundamental tasks we often take for granted until an injury or illness makes them difficult. We specialize in:

  • Self-Care: Mastering dressing, bathing, grooming, and feeding yourself.

  • Upper Extremity Recovery: If a stroke or neurological injury has affected your hand or arm, we use specialized neuro-rehab techniques to regain fine motor control and grip strength.

  • Home Safety & Equipment: We assess your needs for "Adaptive Equipment", tools like reachers, specialized utensils, or bathroom equipment that make your home a safer place to live.

  • Cognitive Retraining: Improving memory, focus, and sequencing skills needed to manage medications, finances, or cooking.

Specialized OT Services at FAM

  • Stroke and neurological recovery: We focus on helping you use the affected side during real tasks, not just isolated exercises, so your progress carries into daily life.

  • Wheelchair and seating support: Your wheelchair should support mobility, posture, comfort, and safety, not just “be a seat.” Our OT team works alongside PT to dial in fit and function.

  • Vision therapy after brain injury: If visual tracking, scanning, or neglect is interfering with reading, walking, or daily activities, we address the underlying visual-perceptual issues and train functional strategies.

Why Choose FAM for Occupational Therapy?

In many clinics, OT is treated as "upper body PT." At FAM, we see it differently. We look at your environment, your tools, and your goals. Whether your goal is to button your own shirt, cook a meal for your family, or return to managing your finances again , we provide the 1-on-1 attention required to get you there.
