Pediatric Sports Physical Therapy
Baseline Movement Assessments & Injury Prevention for Youth Athletes
What We Offer
Our pediatric sports physical therapy program centers on a proactive baseline movement assessment and individualized injury-prevention planning for youth athletes versus the traditional reactive injury rehabilitation model. We identify mobility restrictions, strength deficits, movement-control issues, recovery concerns, and training-load risks before injuries occur.
Key Offerings:
Pre-season baseline assessments
Functional movement and strength screening
Sport-specific risk review
Individualized home exercise and prevention plans
Parent and athlete education sessions
Follow-up reassessments during the season
Post-injury readiness and return-to-sport support when appropriate
Why This Matters
A physical therapy baseline screening is a pre-season evaluation that assesses an athlete’s flexibility, mobility, and strength. It establishes a foundation of normal movement capabilities to minimize injury risk, guide targeted training, and provide a reference point if an injury or concussion occurs.
Key Components of a Baseline Assessment
Functional Movement Screens: Evaluates foundational movement patterns (like deep squats, lunges, and hurdles) to spot asymmetries and restrictions.
Orthopedic Testing: Assesses joint range of motion, muscle strength, and flexibility.
Concussion Baseline Testing: Measures brain function, memory, concentration, and balance to aid in safe return-to-play decisions if a head injury occurs..
How It Works

Receive a report with risk factors and recommendations
Start an individualized home exercise and prevention program
Optional mid-season reassessment and ongoing support
Return-to-sport readiness guidance if/when an injury occurs
